2000 Montana, rear suspension problem

Hi,

I have a Montana and for some reason, the rear suspension got jacked up about 6 inches higher than what it supposes to? Also the ride is very rough as if the suspension was not there.

I was driving on the freeway this afternoon and all of a sudden, I heard a little sound from the rear (more or less like bursting a bubble) then few seconds shortly after, the car was very jumpy and I had to exit the nearest exit. I had it towed to the garage but I don't know if this is an easy fix or the bill is going to make me jump off the cliff :)

P.S. I have the auto levelling option with this minivan and not sure if this is the cause of the problem?

Thanks for your information,

Simon

Would assume by now you know the cause. I didn't want to guess but would assume a reasonably qualified mechanic could diagnose the problem or remove the cat(s) wedged in the rear suspension.

Have you found out the cause of this yet? We have a 97 and the same thing happened to us today. The rear suspension is up about 6 inches and the electronic leveling system will not shut off, we had to pull the fuse so the battery wouldn't drain!!

Hi guys,

It turned out to be the sensor and it was corroding. $200 less in my wallet and the van was back like it was before :(
