Maybe a coincidence -- brake lights and cruise control are out.

Check where rear taillight wires ground. Remove screw, clean contact area and terminal, replace screw with stainless steel one, paint over for corrosion protection. Good wiring harness grounds simplify troubleshooting, as the ground is known good. I like the 3rd eye comment, as the 3rd eye would have a seperate ground. Hope that helps.

I have a Pontiac Grand Prix with the same problem with the brake lights and cruise control out.

The diagnosis I received was that the brake stop lamp switch needed to be replaced.

I believe it's located behind the brake pedal. Anyone know where I can see a diagram of exactly where it is located?
