Have 93 grand am, quad 4. Has new plugs, coil, coil housing, plug wires (boots), recent oil change and filter. Car runs fine, but in last few days the service engine soon light comes on. Goes out after awile at times, other times stays on till engine is turned off for awhile. Also the check engine oil light will come on, then goes off. What gives with this? Don't know what else to service on car. Thanks for any info.

Probably a sensor .. you should run the codes and see what you get.
If the check oil light comes on, check you oil! If there is enough in there, check your pump. Did you get an oil change at the Jiffy Lube, they probably forgot to put the filter back on and that is how you lost your oil. As for the check engine light, check the error codes (you can do that with a paperclip, search the web for directions) and post that here. Then you might get some useful answers from this NG.
Other things you can service on your car that might influence the service engine soon light:
- Clean inside gas tank
- fuel pump/filter
- replacing MAF (and other sensors)
- replacing PCV valve
- Cleaning fuel injectors
- Thermostat
- faulty ECM
- timing
- Much more, so get an error code first!
