The original Blaupunkt in my '89 911 is toast and I was thinking about trying to install a cdr-210 in dash cd player from a 993 in its place. Has anyone done this successfully? How easily does it install/what modifications would be needed? Would I be better off going with an aftermarket installer and an aftermarket system? any advice appreciated. Patrick

I don't see why you'd need anything other than a plug adapter. And even that may not even be neccesary if the audio connections havn't changed.
Probably. Going with an aftermarket deck gives you a huge range of choices. Everything from how much to spend, to what the deck should look like, to it's capabilities, features and ease of use can all be picked by you. Personally, I really like Blaupunkt's newer stuff, and since you seem comfortable with the brand, it's an easy step. Plus, an aftermarket deck will give you an much more in-depth EQ to play with, and will allow for easier future expansion should you ever decide to buy an amp and new speakers. Steve Grauman
