Audio Problems

Aug 10, 2004 2 Replies

First time to the group. Is there anyone out there who can help with an audio problem. I have a 75 connoisseur SE first registered August 2001.

It had been fitted with a Kenwood radio (KRC391) and CD changer (KDC-C467) and my problem is that the remote controls on the steering wheel do not work the radio. Question; Can the steering wheel controls be made to operate the radio etc? If yes, how much and who could do it? If no, what is the minimum spec. of radio etc that can be operated from the steering wheel?

Thanks, Eric

uk.rec.audio.car is probably the best place to ask, there are various adapters to make different manufacturers work with the steering wheel controls but I suspect not with your kenwood. I looked at replacing the steering wheel on my wife's Rover with one out of a scrapyard with radio controls, but could not see an adapter listed for her Kenwood.
