Ouch. Good luck. I've seen one made out of lexan (NOT plexi) which was reasonably good-ish enough, but your options may be limited. Have you contacted Jack Ashcroft? He might have some ideas.

That will be difficult and expensive, but not impossible. Your best bet would probably be to find a spare parts Sonett II with a good window and scavenge it, like this one;
