1995 Saab 900s Moody dash lights

Hey guys-

My car seems to have a mind of its own, which is totally cool. However, It would be really nice if I could see my dashboard/radio at night. The lights come and go on thier own.... sometimes not working for weeks on end and then staying on for about 4 or 5 days. Sometimes they flash for a few minutes (kind eerie) and sometimes I can pound on the dash (SHHH!) and they'll work. I've read before that this is a common problem? What can I do? Thanks! :)

Your car is learning to read! It read an advertisement about being the "Thinking man's car" but has yet to learn that the thinking's still for you to be doing!! Maybe it will learn to read better, and the problem will be solved.

Alternatively - in the "not working" configuration, does your panel resemble the highly touted "black panel" function, that we're supposed to believe emulates an aircraft panel?

What I mean is - does it look like it's doing "black panel" when you don't want it to, or is it just a stupid connection somewhere?

My thoughts too. Which lights go out? All of them? Or just some specific lights ?

I've often wondered why the clock is a critical gauge that can't be black paneled off. :-)
