2001 Saab 9-3

I have a 2001 Saab 9-3 2.0L with 62k miles on it (4dr hatch). I bought it used from a dealership at 56k miles, and basically have no idea what has or has not been done to this car. The Carfax report showed regular servicing, so I'm assuming it was well taken care of. I absolutely love the car and have had no problems with it at all. That being said, is there anything I need to be on the lookout for with this particular model? I was just reading a post that mentioned the timing belt in the GM V6 needing to be replaced at 60k... anything along those lines?

At the least, follow the service schedule as published by the manufacturer and you should not have any unexpected surprises.

The 2.0 engine doesn't have a timing belt, it has a chain and it doesn't have to be changed regularly. So no worries there.

As others have already mentioned, you don't have a timing belt (chain = good).

At 60k miles the car was due for one of the major maintenances that occur every 30k miles. You can get them all done at the same time for a package price and get quotes for the package in advance from various dealers and independant mechanics. Alternatively you can do most all of these maintanence item yourself if you are so inclined. Consult the maintenance section of the owners manuals for what-all has to be done. There are also many web sites that show the schedule in various formats if you search around a bit.
