After driving to the Bay area over the holidays from Oregon, I've lost 3rd and 4th gears. It tries to, but it's like I get neutral. And I just changed the ATF before I left. Any ideas or similar problems? It's a ZF 4HP-18 ,
If it's anything like the ZF 4HP22 that Volvo used it's a notoriously weak and fragile transmission, probably best to pull it and have it rebuilt at a transmission shop. Is that the only auto tranny available in the 9000?
Easy fix--probably the "a" accumulator spring in the valve body. Search saabnet 9000 bulletin board for more info.
There are two seals on the the governor in AT.If one is gone,it could be a cause.
