9-5 pulls left

Checked the alignment couple of times - all within specs Rotated tires - no effect Brake calipers are fine Tires have only 10k miles on them and there is no uneven wear.

The car is slightly pulling to the left. It is not significant but still very annoying.

Is there anything else that can cause the pull?

Regards, Konstantin.

Bent control arm can do that. The control arm on the 9000 got bent when I got hit on the front tire. It acted like it was badly out of alignment. Can also be a suspension component.

Bent control arm would show in aligment test, I believe.

Suspension component it could be. Also sticky steering column is known to cause similar symptoms in 900/9-3.

Had exactly the same thing with a 99 9.3. Alignment checked, tires rotated, still pulled (in my case) to the right. Tires were nearly new. Then one day one of the tires suffered a puncture and I decided to buy 4 new tires. Put the tires on and car went straight down the road. Problem gone. The tires (bad ones) were directional and were of Japanese make. I can't remember the make. I think Yokohama's. Threw them away.

The test for this is to swap the tires around and see if there are any changes.

Did that. Took them off and remounted left to right, right to left. Then front to back. Did not make any difference. I suspect there was amanufacturing flaw in the whole lot of tires. Swapping the tires around the car may not give the answer. In my case I guess I could have tried to run the tires backwards to see if the pulling went from the right to the left. It was a very strong pull. If I would let go of the wheel the car would drive right into the ditch within a few seconds.

John H? How's it going? Or did I get the wrong John?

My email address does work...

Uhhhm. Didn't you do that when you took the tires from the right side and swapped with the left? That runs the tires backwards (rotationally).

No. Since they were directional tires they were dismounted and put back on the wheels from the other side. At the time I did not think about running the tires the wrong way.

Oh! I see. I would not have bothered dismounting and remounting the tires. The directional aspect is not that big of a deal as long as all tires are facing the same direction. Plus by switching the tires around you added another uncontrolled variable into your troubleshooting process.
