9000 Cruise Instalation...

Now I took a chance and bought a cruise control kit off ebay for my wife's manual gearbox 9000 Anni'

I've got the box with the Bowden (?) cable which operates the throttle, two pedal switches and the cruise control stalk.

The connectors are all there for me to wire this up, and I think I can see how the throttle control unit should be mounted behind the battery.

However, I only seem to be able to mount a pedal switch for the brake. There is no mounting bracket for the clutch. I would obviously like to use a clutch switch as well, so has anyone got any ideas. The steering column seems awfully close to me...

I'll post some photos tomorrow on my yahoo area.

Cheers

Al,

I've just this afternoon fitted cruise to my *automatic* Anniversary - took about 45 minutes in all. I looked at the EPC which shows the three pedal setup like yours. There is a bracket (number 95 29 637) that looks like it holds both contact switches (different on my automatic and did not need to be added). Perhaps you're missing this. I could email you a screen cap if it would help.

I imagine the clutch switch is pretty important, if not essential!

Depends on the kit you bought... I've put an aftermarket Audiovox CCS 100 kit in my '77 96 and '72 97 without problem. This kit has no clutch switch, it senses the sudden increase in RPM if you would depress the clutch, and then switches the CC off, as if you pressed the brake.

These are genuine saab parts, my EPC shows a different bracket to what I have, but its a LHD EPC so not sure if this is right part as steering column seems awfully close.

Will take the photos I promised tomorrow.
