The short answer is

Remember, even if you find a plain CS with LPT, a trip to the junkyard for a CSE/Aero ECU + a BPC valve will give you a full pressure turbo.

I suspect it will be as good as the 2.0 if you don't abuse it.

I don't know how the gearing compares on a 2.3lpt but my 9000 Aero is more economical than my 2.0 lpt because of the gearing, significantly higher on the Aero.

Presumably, higher stressed engines will need more maintenance. The 2.0lpt has more than sufficient performance for daily use. 150 bhp plus torque.

The 2.0 LPT at 70 MPH in 5th gear does 3000 rpm.

There is the possibility that the bigger engine will not require that much more fuel to achieve the same performance as the 2.0 The fuel penalty will come in if you start pushing that engine through the gears.

PS. On the other running costs, in the UK at least insurance will be somewhat different for an Aero.

Yes but the gearing is significantly different too, can't remember exactly but from memory it was about 5mph per 1000 rpm but someone can correct this as appropriate.

Depends on many factors. For me @ age 38 with full NCD the difference between fully comp on a 2.0 LPT and an Aero was about 40 quid and for the Aero fully comp for about 270 quid I think that's not too bad. :)

Pretty good. That is roughly mine for the 2.0 now, at 47, *safe* job and post code. ;-)

I'm 35, with a license for 2.5 years (clean just passed late) 62% no claims (they jacked it up to bring the quote down). For a 900T16S they are charging me just shy of £500. And that is the best quote, by about 50%, that I could get.
