95 Engine Blown

Er, the 95 has the 3-cyl DKW engine in it, friend.

Someone did. Sounds like maybe he ran it out of oil - not much other cause for a big-end failure.

Yes, (sort of DKW) from the first 1960 model to 1968. Starting with model year 1967 also available with Ford V4, 1978 last = production year.

1959 actually...the 96 started using it in '60, but the 93, well, you know.

The 1959 two stroke 95s were a prototype and pre production cars.=20 The first production run, chassis #1 - 1700, was 1960 =20

Didn't know that. So, the cheese-slicer for the rear window is on all the production cars then?

No, came during 1961, they probably used up all the stocked flat roof = sections first.

(And it not a 'cheese slicer' thankyouverymuch, it's an 'air foil' ! ) =20

ME: My 9^5 3.0 TiD diesel has blown his engine on the highway just months ago at a milage of about 37.000km. It couldn't be the missing oil, because it has been for an service just a week bevor. Mayby it's been a new software-release for the motormanagementsystem? BTW SAAB germany took all of the costs, including a rental-car during the repair.

Once, my mother took her car in for an oil change, and they forgot to put the drain plug back in before they added the new oil. Luckily, this was caught before any damage was done, but...
