99 Saab 9-5 Rear Brake Change

I'm posting this in hopes it may help someone so they don't run into the trouble I did.

When changing the rear brake pads on a ?99 Saab 9-5, DO NOT loosen the four 11mm bolts that keep the caliper together. If you do, you will lose brake fluid and you'll have to bleed the brakes. There are two retaining pins that run through both pads and a little anti-rattle clip that fits under the pins. Just tap the pins out with hammer and nail or small screwdriver and remove the retaining clip. Remove the caliper by removing the two 18mm bolts at the bottom, then compress the brake piston with a c-clamp. The instructions I've seen say to use pliers, but a clamp is much easier. After figuring out that I had to tap out the pins, I think it may be possible to change the pads without having to remove the caliper at all--not sure if this will work though--I'll have to try it next time or maybe someone else can provide more info. Good luck.
