Brighter Headlight

i'd like to put in powerful headlight (90W) but the spec for my 1999 Saab

9-3 is 55W... so that would mean i need to replace my wiring harness to one that can handle 90W, right?

if so, do you know a site for it?

Maybe, and depending on the country may be illegal. Would auxilliary lights be an option for you? What kind of driving are you finding your existing lites to be insufficient in?

Did you know that a more powerfull headlight gets hotter, which will cause the headlight reflector to deteriorate faster? A bad reflector will only cause you to blind oncomming traffic, while the actual useable light on the road will be very poor, no matter how powerfull a lamp you put in.

When I compare my current '01 9-3 with my previous '99 9-3, my current car has much better headlights, despite the previous car having Philips Vision Plus lamps (which are suposed to give 50% more light at the same power rating, but at the expense of durability) and my current car only has Philips Premiums. The most important difference is that the headlamp glass on my previous car looked more or less sand blasted (at 196k km).

If you experience bad lights, look at the headlight refelctor and glass first, before resorting to more powerfull lights. All the traffic you are yet to encounter will be very gratefull if you do.
