front brakes on 2002 9-3 2.0

I am getting ready to do my brakes on the front. I will be changing the rotors as well and i wanted to know if there was any special tools i need and if there is anything special i should know before doing it. I have done this to hondas and (VW, which were kinda tricky.) thanks for any help

The fronts are pretty standard. The caliper bolts require locktight and you need to torque them. 85 ft lbs. according to the WIS. Use the same value for the wheel bolts (but no locktight of course).

And the hardest part will be getting the little screws that hold the rotors on out. I suggest some PB-blast a while before. Peen the tops of the screws a little to tighten up the torx hole. Then use a clean bit and careful pressure to take them out.

The springs also have to go back exactly as they are before you take them out. Look closely at the calipers, take pictures if you need to - or do one side at a time. Most post-brake job problems I hear of are due to the springs being put back in incorrectly.

FYI - for future information - the rears are a little trickier due to the inner emergency brake - research before doing those. Once you know how to pull them, they are a breeze.
