Any Saturn Vue / Dog owners?

Hi:

Proud owner of a new '06 Vue. Had it about two weeks now, and love it.

Just one thing that I'm hoping that some has a solution for. We have a

12 year old Lab dog. We want her to travel with us in the back seat area. But I don't want to to try jumping up/down from the seat to the ground. Too hard on this old girls joints ....

So for now we bought a ramp ( Petstep2 ) and have her enter from the hatch area. We keep the smaller side of the seatback folded down, and she crawls through and lays down on the seat. Neither of us is really pleased with this set-up. What we REALLY WANT is some easy way for her to get in-out from the back seat directly. A ramp won't work because the door doesn't open far enough, and the 'ledge' there isn't flat. Anyone found a solution for this yet ?

Thanks, Phil

My dad carries a inexpensive child's step stool for his golden retriever in the back of his Vue. When the pooch gets in or out, dad drops it on the ground right by the door and the dog has no problems. The hieght of the stool is about halfway between the ground and the floor and he mearly steps from the ground to the floor to the seat. The top of the stool is rubber coated so he doesn't slip. Works real well and without any kind of expensive, fancy gadgetry....

Just in general, if you're looking for pet ramps for use around the house, check out eBay seller "catcribs". I have no affiliation with this seller, but I've bought some of his stuff. It's of relatively low cost and high quality.
