64 Daytona Hood Won't Open

I recently purchased a 64 Daytona HT and was doing clean up on it. I pulled the hood handle and the hood opened. I noticed that the cable anchors under the hood weren't tight and made a mental note to tighten them and lubricate the cable before I closed the hood. My mental note didn't work and I shut the hood without tightening the anchors. Needless to say the hood won't open now. Is there a simple (or hard) way to get the hood open? I looked from underneath the car and couldn't see the cable.
