Figured I'd come over here and say Hi and get out of that stupid "I have a hole in my heart" thread.
There are three great things in life: Computers, playing bass, and cars.
I just can't get a handle on which is better! ;)

Welcome to the group!
This is the coolest bunch of gearheads on the net.
What kinda cars you play with?
Mark (Eclectic tastes) Dunning
Toyotas, mostly. I like Jap cars, and Toyotas are the best.
I got wound up in here because of that cross-posted thread from the Meathead with the $6/hole in my heart crap, and realized there are guys here that like their Studies as much as I like my Toyotas!
Hey..a gear head is a gearhead!
I have an '85 Corolla GTS (Google "hachiroku") an '88 Supra Sport Roof an '05 Scion tC and a recently departed '85 Celica GTS, given to a friend of mine.
oh...and a '92 Plymouth Grand Voyager AWD...I'm a bass player
My favorite personally owned Toyota was a 1978 corolla wagon with a
1800(?) 2TC engine with a 5 speed. I would love to have that drivetrain in one of Speedway Motor's extended cab 1934 Ford pickup trucks. > > Welcome to the group!
are the best.
I don't play bass but have taught some sweet young ladies to play the bone-a-phone and skin flute and many also went on to learn to fish for trouser trout and pocket perch. I also have trouble deciding whether I like Henry Ford's T & A's or GOD's version better .
are the best.
hooked another one!
(now just wait 'till you actually get one...)

You make a good point.
I really like my "vintage" '83 Honda Civic and the 40+mpg it gets in mixed driving but I miss the power/simplicity/utter reliability of a vintage Studebaker.
In fact, I've all but decided that once the '55 Prez is fully roadworthy, the drop in mileage will be justified by the increase in comfort/power/reliability not to mention recognition.
Newer does not necessarily equate with better...

I figure the best car for me would be a '63 Wagonaire with DB, AC & 3 w/od (AT, and PS for Marilyn, I guess would be better) I still haven't picked an engine though. There are so many damn options: one of the stock ones, 259 w/ blower, 259 with R1 cam and so on.
