Well, I had my shoulder surgery 10 days ago and it's been quite a while since I said more than a few words on here...but hopefully this latest Dr visit will at least allow me to pick up a wrench and do some much-neglected work on the two Avantis!!
They removed some bone spurs, smoothed out the cartilage of the shoulder socket and then found a ligament had pulled loose from the bone, so they inserted a pin into the bone to anchor the stitches to put it all back together again.
I went back to work yesterday and this afternoon was a pain-endurance marathon! I can move my arm in the sling enough to type and do most of my work (software test engineering) but I CANNOT sit for several hours with my arm extended forward onto the desk (like I'm doing now to type this) without experiencing PAIN!
Anyway...I'm back to feeling a little better, have some positive prospects for recovery of the shoulder and if I can ever get the general contractor to finish the house remodelling and get out of my wallet, I might even be able to afford some high-test gasoline to take Trish's Avanti for a spin!!
It'll be a few more weeks before I can drive again...so hopefully the timing will coordinate with more of this gorgeous weather. We've had several days of 70 degree sunshine but it looks like another of those nasty cold-fronts is coming in for the weekend.
Dang! That means another couple of days confined to the house, sitting on my butt and being waited on hand-and foot by my loving wife! Oh well, someone has to do it and I'm up to making the sacrifice just for one more weekend. After all, the Pro Bowl is on this Sunday and while it's not my favorite thing to watch, it IS the last football game for several months and her queso IS outstanding! :)
