There should be a way for the originator to delete his own posts to newsgroups. Sorry, this item was already posted.
It you are fast enough, you can attempt to cancel a message, but you have to beat your news server (i.e. cancel your message BEFORE it sends your message out).
If you use Google, or another HTML news service, you are S.O.L.
