OT (sorta) full-torque inserts?

Mar 04, 2007 2 Replies

has anyone used full-torque brand thread inserts to repair a threaded hole in cast iron where the iron had cracked around the hole? Did it make a satisfactory repair? Asking for a friend who is looking for a "quick fix" for a SBC where the starter mounting holes have suffered some abuse.

Also am curious as to the prices of these kits. They just look expensive.

thanks,

nate

Another last ditch scenario where the hole can be cleaned, then some titanium putty added followed by retapping.

I love that stuff!
