Does any know of a good source for a replacement York DA209 A/C compressor as used on a '64 Cruiser?

Contact J & N Auto Air in Harlingen, TX email address snipped-for-privacy@netscape.net or telephone 1-888-292-7001. This business is owned by our South Central SDC Director, Milton Jones and I'm sure he can help you.

Some of the "rebuilds" out there are pure junk, so be careful. I personally wouldn't waste my time or money on one from ebay. Get one from Classic or J&N. You will pay a few exta buckaroos, but you will get better quality. One of the problems with the old Yorks (aside from being power robbing tooth rattling dinosaurs) is that they have been "rebuilt" too many times and sometimes by shoddy rebuilders. I have gotten a few over the years form local FLAPS that promised the moon with their guarantees and they didn't work at all, made noise, or leaked...right out of the box... The ONLY time I would use a new or rebuilt York now is for a factory correct show car. If you don't need factory correct, then spend the bucks to convert your system to the Sanden rotary. I do recall Dennis at SACO having some new Yorks, though, so you might want to check with him. Studebaker George
