Locating 2001 Ford Explorer Computer

I just bought a used 2001 Explorer Sport Trak and am trying to reprogram my keyless entry. The manual says a factory code can be found on the computer module, but I am either looking at the wrong thing or dont have a sticker with that code on it. Where can I find the computer module on the vehicle? Is it behind the passenger side foot wall? Is there another place I can find the factory code? The dealer of course did not have the code since it was purchased at a dealer-only auction and then sold to me. The books are all with it but the wallet card is not with the book.

Also...how may I go about getting a second key made for this thing? It has one key and it a programmable type. Is that a dealer-only thing?

Any help is appreciated as always.

Unfortunately you have it backward. Anyone can cut the key, but if you only have one key, the dealer has to program your car's computer to recognize the new key. The keys themselves do not get programmed, they have an RFID chip in them with a unique ID code that the car's computer gets programmed to recognize.

If you have two keys you can do the programming yourself. I think I paid about $30 for a key blank for my Focus, which I had cut at a regular locksmith shop. I was able to make the car's computer recognize the new key myself, because I have both of the original keys.
