I just drilled out the axle hubs to 49/64ths. Now am going to press in the new 5/8" studs for racing. Question is: do I lubricate the serrations on the studs before pressing them into the holes? If so, with what? Or do I do it dry?

As you've just said you've drilled the holes about 4mm bigger than the studs I doubt if lubrication makes much difference.
PS - when are you yanks going to become au fait with metric? Or French for that matter.
If god meant for us to use metric, he would have given us 10 fingers.
...or HE could have given us feet hanging from one end and inches hanging from the middle...
