You must have missed the OP's orginal post where he said that he hosed down the engine, and then his problems started. The hose forced water past the gasket on the spark plug tubes.
Hmmm, I drove for 8 hours in a rain/sleet/freezing rain/snow storm last month, and when I popped the hood to add windshield washer fluid, the fan belt wasn't broken!
