The perp was probably another MB owner who was looking to replace his stolen emblem ;)

Maybe you should send the little bastards over there.
Are you suggesting I remove my curb feelers? ;)

LOL! They probably look more appropriate on the Continental than on the LS. Were curb feelers around when your Continental was produced?
I learned something new today! Since every one I've seen had at least a hub cap, I thought they were standard.
The earliest I remember curb feelers was the early fifties, ten years after the Continental.
A flat head Ford convertible with a windshield visor, a prism on the dash to see the traffic lights, a set of fuzzy dice hanging from the mirror, twin radio antennas on the back fenders, skirts, curb feelers, a suicide knob on the steering wheel and one was all set to go cruise' the drive-ins to look over the girls on roller skates for one that did not wear a panty girdle, to take to a drive in movie on saturday night. ;)

You got it Mike, you got it!!! Great stuff, brings back the mems.
Only after the car got a proper Simoniz job!
Damn, you guys are bad! You KNOW he meant Wheel Covers!
Natalie, a FWAP is in order...
LOL...I have been calling Wheel Covers Hub Caps since I was 5, and that was a lotta years ago! Yeah, i know the difference, but I still call them Hub Caps!
Cool! I would have liked to have seen that! Did you ever catch the 'culprit'?
Problem is, when they cut the tips (or the whole finger) off, they can turn around and sue YOU! I find this disgusting: someone being somewhere they shouldn't, doing something they shouldn't, and they can hold YOU liable if they get hurt being @ssholes!
About 15 years ago, a friend had a cousin that kept getting her VW radios stolen. He soldered razor blades into the seams of the radio. She came out and found her windshield smashed, a trail of blood, and the radio hagning from the wiring.
She never had a radio stolen again after that (they had gotten THREE of them!). BUT, if the guy really wanted to, he could sue HER for injuries! f@cked up, eh?
Man, back then we called people like that 'greasers'. ;)
Not until you render a much needed FWAPPING!
*holding shotgun behind Nat...*
Not bad, not bad. My solution's a little more pragmatic: I found a company that makes a replacement ram's head that has no flex mechanism. It means any pedestrians I hit (right, Judy?) are gonna get a ram's-head-sized chunk torn out of 'em, and it means I can't turn the ram's head around facing rearward the way I like it, but it also means it'll be a great deal more difficult to steal.
Nah, there they only allow cutting the RIGHT hand at an angle.
OK CULTURE TIME! Why the RIGHT hand?
Fool, he wasn't describing Iraq. He was describing Texas.
'cause that's the one reserved for eating, while the left is reserved for wiping one's ass. It forces the thief to eat with what is considered an inherently-dirty hand.
One assumes that the clerics disapprove of decadent capitalistic infidel Western notions like handwashing.
I'm sure that Jeff meant this to be "tongue-in-cheek" but his point is very valid. A large part of the reason that this type of theft occurs (as well as all other types of crime) is because of the light "slap on the wrist" punishment these thieves get when they get caught.
I'm sure NOBODY here is advocating killing for the theft of hubcaps, but I do believe we need MUCH STIFFER penalties/punishments for vandalism, theft, etc.
Tom
