I know there's people from Mass here: the Clods are at it again...

The wait is minor, safety is also a factor here, to have someone shift lanes for some silly ass that can't wait a minute is a safety concern, fuel consumption is secondary. The gas is wasted more so by fools hastily goosing the pedal to get to the next light and driving 90 mph on the freeway.

How about 17 cars, all of which could make a right? You are an idiot if you think you can put a value on other peoples' time, or if you don't see that any fuel savings are good, no matter how small.

This is why I asked you if you remembered when right-on-red became more widespread in this country. It was related to the cost of fuel, and the sudden realization that OPEC had the world by the balls. Apparently, you still don't see the connection between consumption and its geo-political consequences.

Oh balony. Seventeen cars? If that's the case your city is sitting on it's ass. The traffic engineer should be redesigning that intersection. Not only that, but the light will change to green long before seventeen cars will stop, make a right turn next car stop make a right turn ect. Your argument is full of BS. Speeding and goosing the throttle from one light to the next are the biggist fuel wasters, other than driving a big pickup or SUV. You don't drive a pickup or big four wheel drive SUV do you?

Which number indicates a bigger waste of fuel?

0 miles per gallon 8 miles per gallon

Choose.

Anytime you sit with your engine running and not moving you are at zero, so turn off your engine while waiting. So how many times in the day do you do that? For how long? Are you making unnecessary trips? Could you walk rather than drive? Did you choose a fuel efficient vehicle? Do you use excessive throttle to get going and do you go in excess of 60 mph on the freeway or optimum RPM for fuel savings?

Dig, boy. Dig. Keep digging. Perhaps Cathy will stop by and explain it all to you. Meanwhile, keep digging. I can still see the top of your head.

Why don't you answer some of my questions joe boy? Or are you afraid?

Too bad that YOUR parents didn't figure out that condoms were for birth control, NOT water balloons!

YOUR petroleum, not that of the vehicle already stopped. Joe, who only cares for HIS time, HIS petroleum. Chill, Joe, take a Valium.

MY car, MY gas. MY business how fast I consume it.

No, but his vehicle has to carry a BIG ass around in it.

Millions of people make millions of UNnecessary trips. I see it all the time. Make ONE trip to get a quart (litre here) of milk. Come home. Half an hour later, make ANOTHER trip to get a dozen eggs. Over and over and over. I plan my week in advance, compressing all chores into TWO trips, max.

Whoosh! Right over your head, for what...the thousandth time since early December?

Now I see what you're missing: OUR petroleum. Our wars in the Middle East. Our dead soldiers. Never forget that we are in Iraq for only one reason: OIL.
