OT Fart motor

It's a long trip, but there is the chance you could make it back, yes. It also has possibilities here at home.

Except, to make it work, you need two things: Methane and an oxidizer (like oxygen). Where do you get the oxidizer? There are other oxidizers, like chlorine gas, but oxygen is the most commonly used one, like in our body's cells and our cars.

Generally, where there is a lot of methane, there is little oxygen. And where there is oxygen, there is little methane. The methane and the oxygen tend to form CO2 and H20.

Exactly. Boys & bathroom humor. The mere mention of the word "fart" around boys (men?), & they giggle. Go figure. I definitely think one needs a certain amount of testosterone before this stuff kicks in... Mars, Venus.

Within the same syndrome: the "Captain Underpants" books, which are beloved by boys. (I don't think girls *ever* borrow them from the library, or beg for them at B&N.)

Same with a fascination for large yellow machinery: backhoes, front-end loaders, etc.

Rolling my eyes, too. ;-P

Cathy

Oh come on Cathy, don't be a prude, you gals giggle too and have your own little funnies, don't try to fool me.

I'm picturing Natalie reaching for the Febreze as hubby cuts a big one.....And laughing so hard that I'm in danger of soiling myself!!!!

Thanks for the humor, WickedDoll!

I never said YOU said it can't be done. I just said, never say it can't be done. Of course there are issues as with any new technology.

Any carbon based new world, methane is a valuable marker.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ All this talk about farting and motors reminds me of something a friend and I doubled over with laughter upon seeing in a 'trick and joke' store years ago.... It was a box labelled "Little Brownie Gas Shaver" and inside was a little plastic razor with the handle attached to a tube like an enema tube with an appropriate fixture on the other end. No Batteries Needed!
I know a lot of girls who giggle at that too.
Girls don't general check out the Hardy Boys, either. But they do tend to go for Nancy Drew.
Jeff
"dbu.," >,
Yeah, but our rectums don't particularly tickle our funnybones.
Natalie
I used to practice soccer at a field that was next to a sewer plant. I had broccoli with sour cream at lunch time. At practice, I gave off more noxious fumes than the sewer plant.
Jeff
"mack"...
I spend a lot of time trying to get skid marks out of his bikini briefs. I've clocked some of his "whistlers" at >10 seconds after eating beans.
And laughing so hard that
Sure, mock my pain.
Natalie
That would be an anatomical position that I would not want to try. I have heard of a digital rectal exam, but that would be like an arm rectal exam. Maybe with a cow or horse, though.
Natalie
Sure we do, but it's not about farts, that's for sure! ;-P Bathroom humor belongs to boys/men, & they're welcome to it! Has nothing to do with prudishness, at all; it's simply about what one finds hysterically funny & what one just shakes one's head at. Women just don't go into gales of laughter over the word "fart". They just sort of shake their heads wondering what on earth is so funny about it. Mars, Venus. Really.
Cathy
Jeez, I don't. We (women I know) just don't see what's so incredibly funny. Not about -that-, at any rate. But we all agree that men find it hysterically funny.
Yep. She's made something of a comeback. The American Girls are big with the somewhat younger crowd.
Cathy
I happen to know of a few women who have a good giggle over the word, but what ever is your preference is fine with me. I still laugh at a good healthy fart, as long as I don't have to inhale the fumes.
As President Clinton (the last great president) used to say "I feel your pain"....but it's still tickling me!
As for the skid marks ....he made 'em, let him clean 'em!
He's not allowed to do laundry. Trust me, he shouldn't be.
Natalie
Got my dad a T-shirt one year: "World's Largest Source of Natural Gas."
Unfortunately when he passed, I inherited it. . . . .and the title.
Be careful what you give your dad for Father's Day. You get it all back when he dies.
Nat, do you mean "So who says you can't wash a lambswool sweater in hot water?............ We can always give it to the six year old across the street!"
I know, I know, my wife always says "I wish you would leave the washer ALONE!"
Someimes I think there should be an ERA amendment for men..............
