Hmmm...where was Mrs. Murphy's? Was that near the lakes?

IIRC, if it's what I'm thinking of, it was a little eatery in the front of a house? Across from the Lakeview or whatever it was back then, between the upper and middle lakes.

And never went into the place!

Oh, BTW, looks like 7 Os this week, maybe with both bands. I might even be the 'House" bass player this week. Thursday night. We (that is, BOTH bands) are going to try to get up early,

Mrs. Murphy's is the little donut shop on 202. Another place I used to go to was back then called Nashville Supper Club. I'm sure you remember that one. It's now called Louie B's.

It wasn't Louis B's back then, I think it was the Lakeview. I knew it was some guy's name but couldn't think of it.

Across the street from Louis B's 26 years ago was a house with a little eatery in it. It was on the corner of a street, Babb's Rd, I think. (There's 2 Babb's Roads, one In CT that comes into Southwick at Louis B's, and the Mass Babb's Rd across the street from Louis B's). I used to live at the end of the road...in a barn. It was converted to a garage and an apartment, so I had a NICE garage to f@ck with my car in and a really nice little apartment.

When I got engaged my wife didn't want to live in a barn so we moved to Westfield; same LandLord.

Lakeview and Louie B's are two separate facilities about a good half mile apart. When I was a kid I used to work in this area, and low and behold, when I married my wife, her father owned a piece of property on Berkshire Ave. And it so happens that my old man's business had the name Berkshire in it. Wow, what a small world, eh?

Do you remember when United Technologies had changed it's name from United Aircraft? That new logo made me laugh so hard.

Were you at HSD when signs went up at their entrances saying "Good morning/evening. Today's date is ...... Please check the expiration date of your gauges"?

Louis B's, I think...

That's because they were using the same Logo as United Artists was, and since United Artists had it first, they threatened to sue if United Aircraft didn't get a new logo. Owing to the fact they were branching out from the Aircraft parts businesses (Otis Elevators and Carrier AC products) rather than change the logo they changed the name to United Technologies. And why did the logo crack you up? I got it right away. It's supposed to be the Impeller on the front of a Pratt & Whitney engine, but it's also supposed to show 'progression'.

The only problem is, don't look at the first card in a Rolodex!!!

When was that? You know, I can't remeber, but it seems familiar!

I got written up once for using some Heat Transfer compund on a heat sink that was one day past it's expiration date! And I got a warning for using a test rig that went out of date at midnight. I started my shift at 4:00, we worked until 12:30, and I used the test stand all night! Got written up for 15 minutes! My arguement was, if any calibrated settings went out, they did it long before 12AM!!! (I caused such a stink about it that they decided if a rig was IN USE at midnight, then it was OK till the end of that shift. However, they refused to remove the warning from my file!!!)

I told them it looked like stop motion of a golf swing.

I'm sure you felt all worked up at the time. It just goes to show how important the job meant to you.

Nah, I just don't like getting written up for Bullshit. I could see if the stand were out of date *before* I started using it...

Hey, just to hijack a thread:

BOTH bands, Seven O's, route 16 Sunderland, tomorrow (Thursday) night. Should be out the door with both before 11PM...

I'd say one or the other will get up around 9PM.

yeah, I know. I'm in the middle of checking the schedule.

I can't make it tomorrow night but there's still three Thursdays left in this month. Problem is I'm sure only one will be open but at the moment I don't know which one. I'll let you know hopefully by tomorrow.

It's tough to get the people together. In the Modern band, the guitar player doesn't want to go out on Week nights, since he has to get up early to go to work. Also, the singer and drummer are married and have trouble finding a sitter. They were thinking of cancelling tonight since the other band is going as they have to be home by 11!

The other band doesn't want to 'burn itself out' on Open Mics. The idea is to go to an open mic, play 5-6 songs, hope they go over well enough that the onwer hires us to hear more! (this has happened before...the Modern band and another band got gigs this way!)

So, unless we get booked, this may be a one shot deal to hear both at once!
