OT New warnings about entitlements shortfall

It appears the dimmies are playing politics again.

New warnings about entitlements shortfall Medicare unable to pay full benefits by 2019, Social Security by 2041 WASHINGTON - Trustees for the government's two biggest benefit programs warned Tuesday that Social Security and Medicare are facing "enormous challenges," with the threat to Medicare's solvency far more severe.

Treasury Secretary Henry Paulson, one of the trustees, warned that the country was facing a fiscal train wreck unless something is done.

"Without change, rising costs will drive government spending to unprecedented levels, consume nearly all projected federal revenues and threaten America's future prosperity," Paulson said in releasing the new report. "Our nation needs a bipartisan effort to strengthen both programs for future retirees."

President Bush, who wanted to make overhauling Social Security his top domestic priority in his second term, tapped Paulson to lead that effort. However, Paulson has been unable to forge a consensus with Democrats, who took control of Congress in 2006.

That's all cover crop, what about the cash crop?

That replaces almost all the vegetables I buy in the supermarket between April and October. And, I forgot: 3-4 kinds of peppers. Sounds like a cash crop to me.

Nothing in the list is a "cover crop". What did you mean to actually say?

How do you deal with the bunnies, the four legged ones?

Cover crop is used to cover something you grow that you don't want others to know about.

A cover crop is one used to prevent erosion, and enrich the soil when it's plowed or dug in. There is no other definition unless you are an idiot.

Don't be evasive. We know what you're up to.

The Dims could not allow a Republican President to fix SS even if it meant killing the program. The American people should have listened to Senator Santorum ten years ago when we had a chance to fix it.

Now the "cure" will be much worse. On top of that, the goofy Dims want to spend trillions more to provide "free" medical care for everyone.

If we had listened to Goldwater, who wanted to allow us to invest OUR half of the TOTAL contribution to SS and give up one half of the SS benefit, not the mealy two percent of our half of the contribution President Bush suggested we would all have a million dollar retirement accounts in our own name today.

That's easy, one can tell from his postings. It is the stuff he smokes LOL

If I did, it would be no worse than the fifth of cheap gin you swill every morning, and the litre of Thunderbird you wash it down with.

Thunderbird? You think we drink Thunderbird, is that a racial thing with you?

Not at all. I just know from your insane ramblings that you're drinking the liquor store equivalent of Prestone. You're so far gone, you're not even aware of it.

I remember Republicans, at least the more honest ones, admitting that SS privatization would require the borrowing of a very large amount of money to fund the transistion from a public to a private system. Just what America needs, Republicans piling up yet more national debt, LOL.

Aw, I'm just kidding! Politics is all we play! Hell, we didn't instigate the war in Iraq just to stop terrorism, WMDs, a brutal dictator, blah, blah, blah... It was all for Blackwater and Halliburton and to help those Heritage Foundation kids in Baghdad list war experience on their resumes (it should come in handy when they start running for office, 20-30 years from now). It's a good thing that most of the people can be fooled all of the time and will vote for McCain.
