I guess we took the land away from them by force and now they aretaking it back and more by a cultural invasion. Anyone from Latin America couldfeel at home on the streets, without having to pronounce a single wordin English.In stores, shopkeepers wait on their clients in Spanish. Universitiesoffer programs for Spanish speakers. And in supermarkets, banks,restaurants - even at the post office and government offices -information is given and assistance is offered in Spanish. In Miami,doctors and nurses speak Spanish with their patients and a largeportion of advertising is in Spanish. Daily newspapers and radio andtelevision stations cater to the Hispanic public.But this situation, so pleasing to Latin American immigrants, makessome English speakers feel marginalized. In the 1950s, it's estimatedthat more than 80 percent of Miami-Dade County residents werenon-Hispanic whites. But in 2006, the Census Bureau estimates thatnumber was only 18.5 percent, and in 2015 it is forecast to be 14percent. Hispanics now make up about 60 percent."The Anglo population is leaving," said Juan Clark, a sociologyprofessor at Miami Dade College. "One of the reactions is to emigratetoward the north. They resent the fact that (an American) has to learnSpanish in order to have advantages to work. If one doesn't speakSpanish, it's a disadvantage."

Yeah, I suppose being from Mass does give me a slanted view of things. On some things. On others I'm almost as Conservative as someone from the Midwest.

I'd just as soon give them a six-month vacation at Leavenworth and then ship them back from whence they came.

The Democrats want to (er...*ARE*) give them the farm. At least 'legalizing' them gets them SS numbers and, if they *do* work rather than collect Welfare and Food Stamps they're paying taxes.

Shooting them as they come across the border is an even better idea, but look at what happened to those two INS/Border cops when they shot a drug- smuggler in the @$$. Talk about Liberals taking over!!!

It was California, and I don't know why she received the Spanish version because she sure doesn't look most Hispanics. Maybe the DMV employee was from Peru, where the president was Japanese.
