Re: OT Gun Free Zones? Who has the guns? Liberalism Kills!!!

Nice. I gave up on rec.guns many years ago. It's a moderated site, so you obviously noticed the posting lag.

I hate that, even though it weeds out idiots like the one that rhymes with "you-know-who".

They do digest anything, though my TRS has never failed due to anything other than a defective magazine. It's never jammed with any factory ammo, and only one FTF with a bad reloaded round. Not bad for many thousands of rounds.

I'll have a 220 one day. I can feel the purchase coming on.

BTW, do you remember when they acquired that design from Browning? The first .45s were Browning who decided to discontinue their manufacture.

Huntington Beach PD used them way back then, and I had an opportunity to evaluate one. Talk about an accurate service pistol.

The fact that you respond is enough for me.

We have not had any mass murders here. That speaks for itself.

I think it was the other way around: Browning sold the SIG P220 rebadged as the Browning BDA. They had the European style heel magazine release. When SIG decided to start marketing their guns in the US they created a version with a traditional side release.

I bought my first P220 in 1988, so it had to be before then.

I must have lost interest in that thread before you posted. Care to indulge the lazy and summarize what you read for us?

It's so much effort for me to Google it, don't you know?

I think the moderation on rec.guns is essential, otherwise the signal/noise ration would be so low you couldn't ever find the signal.

Take a look at talk.politics.guns : that's what rec.guns would be like without Magnum, the moderator.

They are in their own little world, an out of touch world. Infatuated with their guns.

It HAS to be.

You're correct about the BDA being the P220, re-badged as the BDA.

However, it was imported first when branded as the BDA. Browning's participation later ended. My ASSumption was that Browning was making them under license from Sig, much like the 1911 was made during WWII by varied groups from Ithaca to even Singer Sewing Machine Co., the latter being one of the most rare. After your post, I checked into this and found I was incorrect, so thank you for that.

Personally, I don't care what name is on that gun. To print a 25 yard group like the one I fired at the HBPD range that day, never having handled one before, was incredible. A good choice, sir.

I agree it would be a free-for-all, with anti-gun nuts abounding, without moderation.

But the lag time is, at times, frustrating.

Whitless, clueless. You need to live a few more years then maybe you will finally know something.

You've perfected mediocrity, dbu. No one will touch you on that one.

They just don't get it. Whitless thinks I'm anti-gun, LOL.

Grow up to be a adult wihitless and understand the world around you.

I don't think you're anti-ALL-guns. Just those you in your demented state think others shouldn't own.

Proof positive.

As I said, you don't understand the world around you. When you finally get some kind of idea what you are up against come back again.

Dbu, even the stupidest of children begins to understand after they've been spanked as many times as I've owned you here.

You're unteachable, and a waste of time. Say hi to your wannabe-conservative friend.
