The trick to getting top dollar for your car when selling it is to detail it so is has good curb appeal, fix any obvious mechanical and cosmetic problems before presenting it for sale, and doing some research on the value of the vehicle beforehand. It may help to know which used vehicle guide the buyer is using. Most new car dealers use NADA, some used car dealers Kelley Blue Book or Black's Guide, private parties often use edmunds.com.
You are selling to CarMax YOU will not get top $$$$ But do make sure it is clean. Trade in value or less
