1994 will not start

Please help. It is getting gas, the engine is turning over but just no spark. How to test? Is there an easy way to figure out what is bad? ie igniter, coil, etc.

battery power is on the coil. primary on coil is about 3 ohms and secondary reads about 11.4 K ohms.

any suggestions? These parts are very expensive

Thanks

Almost every Toyota I have had ignition issues on, I have had to replace an ignitor. They are in fact VERY expensive, but you can do some searching online and come up with alternative sources, such as used parts, or eBay. I can also recommend that ALL grounds are checked thoroughly. I have found one or two vehicles to have a loose ground due to some body work having been done or similar. I have had some limited successes using ignitors from other model Toyotas also. Just make sure there are no spare wires, and they typically work well.

hope this helps

had a similar problem. Rotor and cap were definitely worn out. Changed rotor and cap, then sprayed contact cleaner in the whole distributor. Minor improvements. When I changed the plugs the car started right away. Was it the plugs or are the wires still at fault? I don't know. Wires will be next if the problem happens again.
