1996 Toyota camry LE 2.2 engine oil leak

I have oil leak between the engine and the transmission I suspect the rear end seal on the engine's crankshaft, is anybody there that have replaced this seal? I need to know if I have to remove the engine or the transmission and what other parts need to be removed to gain access to this. Thanks!

Transmission comes out. And while your all it, replace the oil pump seal on the transmission too. Come to think of it, the oil seals on the transmission where the half shafts insert should be replaced too. Oh heck... just overhaul the tranmission while you've got it out! LOL

I changed the rear engine seal on my 91 Camry LE last year. The trans had to come out. As it was suggested by others, I also changed out the trans seal as well. It was definitely quite a job for a DIY'er, but doable. A trans jack helps quite a bit as well as a lot of patience. BTW, make sure that your leak is not coming from the distributor shaft.... mine leaked from there too. Good luck.
