i installed a new stereo in my 91 camry dx and now the tail lights and dash lites dont work, every time i put in a new fuse it blows as soon as i turn on the parking lights. i disconnected the cig lighter and ashtray light to see if maybe i pinched a wire or something while installing the stereo, but still the fuses blow. what is the problem?????

im not very good with this type of stuff, is there any way you could explain exactly what i have to do with a little more detail? thanks for the help it is greatly appreciated

Disconnect, cut, and then tape the ends of the orange wires coming out of your new radio. There will be either one or two. Cut both.

not to sound like a dick, but that still doesnt help, seems how there is no orange wires, what was the deal with the green wire and the white with green stripe??? the one wire on my new stereo says connect to constant 12 volt, and i couldnt figure out what that meant

I recently put in a CD changer and had the same problem. I was working without a wiring diagram so I found a ground, 12v constant & 12v battery using a multimeter. Anyway, everything was hooked up right, the cd & radio worked but the fuse blew and no dash & tail lights. After testing the wires again, I found another ground wire and used that one instead. This one worked. Try it. The bad ground was a green in my car, the good ground was the brown. the power cables were gray & blue with yellow stripe. Your colors might be different. Use installdr.com
