New Camry Rattle

John,

I have no issues with my Camry. Rotors are just fine, sulfer small is not a problem (use good gas like in any car), transmission jitter is not a problem (change transmission fluid at specified intervals), rattles (taken care of..).

Compared to other cars I have driven, this car drives a LOT nicer then others > I am in the market looking for a new car. Just started to look at the

That'll show ya how, and here's an excerpt ( post ) from a previous thread.

And Another to be more specific..................

And to answer why to pull where...............

.................These should all help to some degree, Just think of a question that you might ask between the info if you get stumped as to why all is posted.

Good Luck finding and curing your rattle.

( as an aside, Those stick on, wood grain and metal looking "aplique's" suck pretty bad in my opinion, and cause a great many problems that are not apparent when applied. If you are speaking of those items, I can best suggest taking them off NOW before they have time to fade or damage the dash they are applied to)

My '99 XLE has a rattle in the overhead light switch. Short of sticking a toothpick in the gap is there anything I can do?

Thanks!

If you pop the clear plastic off, I'm sure you can unscrew the assembly and see whats shaking.

I had forgotten about the same thing happening when I first acquired the 97 camry we had. it was actually the wires to the light, kinda rattling against the headliner. VERY annoying. I just pulled the assembly out and got some thin foam sheeting ( from work , we have lots of packaging type materials and throw tons of it away each day) and slid a panel about a foot square out over the wiring and no more rattle..................

I finally found the problem, It was the "U" shapped metal piece (latch) between the door and the seatbelt pilar, somehow the guys that torqued it at the assembly line didn't torqued it all the way, so I torqued the

2 bolts as hard as I can and that fixed the problem. It was a bitch to figure this out! I hope this tip helps someine out there with this annoying noise.
