Toyota's feet in the fire...

I wish they'd do a Celica like the last one. I just missed buying one. I know the torqueless thing was something of a chore to dive but it fit me like a glove. Curiously, the one I test drove had a major CLUNK from the front somewhere. Dealer seemed to think that was normal for a Celica so I passed. Maybe that experience was a harbinger of things to come. Anyway, if I wanted the Camry/Corolla experience, I'd just buy the real thing - a Buick.

They had a RED! GT and a silver GTS on the local lot. I took the red GT out ($12,990) and passed on the GTS ($17,995) because of the $5000 difference. I got to drive a couple GTS models while I was working for a dealer. WOW!!

The GT had a kind of quirky feel in the rear, and I pointed it out. She said she'd have it looked over and get back to me.

They looked it over, fixed it an RAISED THE PRICE $1,000!!! $14,000 for a 6 year old car w/58,000 miles. NOPE!

I went to the nearest (42 miles away) Scion dealer and picked up a 1 year old tC w/11,000 on it for $15,000.

I HATE THE SEATING POSITION!!!!!!!!!

Perhaps that's because the Scion is marketed for teenagers, keeps them out of the real car. Teens are more flexible than you or I.

I saw a guy getting in one as I was leaving lowes and asked him how he liked his celica. Everybody loves that car it seems. Funny how toyota discontiues some of the 'good' ones. I thought the MR2 spyder was a cool car too. Cool name as well...

Yeah, the one I almost bought was a loaded silver GTS. I wish I'd ordered one the next year because they offered HID headlights as an option. That was the last year. It would've been nice to get one without that foolish wing but I don't think you could do that. It's really dicey buting a used one because the GTSs have sually been molested by a ricer ot two. You'd think the Civic SI would be a similar fit and feel but it's not. Antway, if I absolutely knew the history, I'd go for a used GTS but I'm not very trusting. I think they did really stupid stuff with the GT like drum rear brakes and no rear sway bar, which might've been what you felt. I've seen a few automatic GTs around - talk about ball-ess!

The Scion I rode in felt like an orange crate with wheels stapled to the sides.

I LIKE the semi reclined position in my Supra, Celica, Corolla! Driving while sitting at a desk SUCKS!

We're talking Scions, not Skodas.

I know. A Skoda would probably ride better then a Scion.
