Bought a 97 Camry XLE for daughter. Lots of ooohs and aaahs and good natured ribbing from friends about borrowing money from me now. Other than leather and wheels anything else different than an LE?

Six cylinder engine and I lbelieve that year all were made in Japan The rest is trim.

I believe the L in XLE stands for "leather"; that's it. No.............it doesn't stand for "lover".

I have an LE with a 6 banger...
I have an LE that has leather seats... but 4 cylinder engine
Leather is not standard in the XLE. I think it is "extra luxury edition."
