compared filters for toyota diesel motor and my 22 re today and seems to me the larger diameter filter from the diesel would fit. is there something special in the 22re`s filter such as a check valve that is not in the other that would hurt my engine. has anybody ever tried this?
I've used the almost 1 quart HP1 filter on my 85 PU. It fits fine - doesn't seem to affect time it takes (near instant) for oil pressure to build up. I too don't like the ones that hold a little more than 2 shot glasses of oil!
