Is there anything in the Owner's Manual about it? RTFM!

Nope - the Owners manual is for things like setting cruise control or using the power locks. It directs you to the $$$ dealer for maintenace and repairs.
On my 03 Land Cruiser it works this way:
Select odometer display (not trip meter) before turning ignition off. Then turn ignition on while holding down odometer button. Continue holding until light goes off. It will flash for several seconds before going off.
