TUNDRA EXHAUST UPGRADE

Does anyone have any recommendations regarding which 2003 Tundra dual exhaust upgrade would provide a nice HP boost, as well as give this truck a mean sound? What are the average prices, and how easy/difficult is it to install? Thanks all!

Factory TRD duals baby.

Simple afternoon bolt-on installation, nice sound but not too loud, and the same HP improvement as any other system (negligible).

$300-$700 on Ebay.

Is that a "cat back" system, or does it add a catalytic converter for the left side? If not, would it be CA smog legal to add a second cat?

I'd love to put on a set of headers and true dual exhausts, but I'm not sure if that's allowed here.

I agree. I don't regret mine at all.

Not a drastic power increase, but noticeable when pulling my boat uphill.

Cat-back.

No. The smog sensor would be blind to the other side.

Not in this sunny state.

A little less than a full cat-back. It replaces the final muffler with a dual outlet muffler, adds the left pipe, and replaces the right pipe with one with a cool stainless TRD tip.

You already have two cats. Driver's side crosses over and both pipes join at the entrance to a resonator. 2000-2002 had a third cat there in CA.

The BS here in CA is why I would only consider a factory TRD system. It's got all of the approvals you need. You could have anything done by Joe's Mufflers, but good luck passing smog.

I'm not in Ca. anymore, but 5 years ago I was and couldn't get a 79 Mustang with dual exhaust smogged. Had to convert it to single. If duals were an option in 79 from Ford I would have been alright, but it wasn't.
