Beetle Birth Certificate

I got my Beetle's Birth Certificate!!!!!

Rhett was born March 1, 1968...left the plant on March 12, destined for Halifax, Canada. Originally Royal Red in color (still is), equipped with Leatherette upholstery, Lotus White Wheels Rims, Rear Lap Belts, and White Wall Tires. As well, it was equipped with a 44 bhp 1.5 litre engine!

I'm now off to get it framed!!!

Okay, Pete, can you please tell me how one goes about getting one of those?

Thanks, Larry

It's really quite easy!

Send a letter to the Stiftung AutoMuseum Volkswagen that has your chassis number and a Visa or Mastercard number. It took about 3 weeks to get mine, but it is well worth the wait!

If you look up the museum on the 'net, you will find their mailing address.

Regards,

Pete

Hiya Larry,

Pete's a little excited, so I thought I might chime in with the details for you......... Direct your letter of inquiry to:

Christine Neefe Stiftung Automuseum Diesel Strasse 35 D38346 Wolfsburg, Germany

Be sure to include your VIN and 15 Euros. Money orders or credit card. Allow six weeks for processing and delivery.

Ok, so I'm coming in a bit late here I think but "Birth Certificate"!

Does this apply to any VW, including a 1978 Type 2 from Australia?

One thought though, I hope it doesn't list ALL the sibblings born prior to my BAY I couldn't afford the postage on that much paperwork.

Cheers,

John - Perth AU
