buying, check the VIN

if the vehicle I.D. number doesn't match the title pass on the purchase. OK?

Here in Minnesota you can still get a title if the VIN doesn't show up anywhere in the state records via a 'Bonded' title. That means you pay a bit extra to insure the state if they are inadvertently titling a stolen vehicle.
