Engine Cleaner

Apr 21, 2005 2 Replies

After 8 months, my car is finally back from the paint shop (Don't ask....long story). I'm in the process of replacing the wiring harness and would like to really get the engine clean before wiring. I would like to try this without dropping the motor, so I need some suggestions on a good engine cleaner that would remove the grime, grease, and goop. Oh........and some overspray. So, what's your favorite ?

I use Castrol Super Clean in a purple jug. I get it at Checkers Auto Supply. It will eat paint if left on too long and it will get everything spotlessly clean. It dissolves with water. It also eats carbon if you're going to do a valve job.

Thank you....will look for it tomorrow. I'm assuming since it dissolves in water I just spray it on, wait a bit, and spray off with the hose ? Thanks again,
