Hiya Eduardo,

"BV"? That's interesting. Haven't seen that.

Here in the states, VW imported Busses with 1600 single port engines starting in 1969. These engines were stamped with a "B5" series number. They carried this over into the 1970 model year. But also in the 1970 model year they fitted a 1600 single port into their USA bound Bugs. These engines had a "B6" series number. Basically, both engines (the B5 and the B6) were the same. The only real difference was that the B5 case was drilled to accept bolts for a rear engine hanger/mount.

The number is stamped in the flange hidden by the fan housing.. had to take that out to see it...

This engines' tinware seems to come from an early bus, but the number being under the tinware makes me think it was for a Type 3 of sorts....
