Generator bearing removal?

Anyone have a method for removing the rear (near brushes) generator bearing. Don't have a puller with arms skinny enough to get behind it. Phil

aren't there little screws holding the cover that secures the bearings to the ends?

post a picture so we can see what you are talking about! which generator is this anyway? later, dave

Clamp the armature in a vise with the axis horizontal. Position it so that the bearing is near one end. Use 2 large screwdrivers levered against each vise jaw to simply pry the bearing off. Do it quickly and it will simply fly off and into a properly positioned waste basket.

No special tools, takes about 3 seconds.
