Ugh. Just when I thought I was done with the '60 ragtop... New, ok, Bosch rebuilt generator brand new. New voltaqge regulator. I just installed them along with the new engine. The red light is on. I don't have a volt meter so I used my test light which does not light up when I hook it to D+ on the gen or on the voltage reg. This happened before a few years ago with another of my VWs and it turned out to be something other than a bad gen or reg, but of course I forget what it was. Must be getting old. Anyway, am I testing it properly? Or is there something I'm missing here?
