Help...more carb trouble!!

Mar 01, 2004 1 Replies

The brass fuel inlet on the top of my 34PICT3 carb came out on me today while adjusting the carb. Thank goodness it wasn't while driving it!! How do I go about fixing this. I have read somewhere about tapping it and threading a new inlet into it. Where do I get a new inlet with threads on one end. Also what size tap should I use. Any suggestions??

You can take a course file or rasp and roll it over the inlet tube on a piece of wood to create a knurled effect. This will give the carb inlet something to bite onto. Then use loc-tite on the inlet tube and tap it back into place.
